Crossover GAC GS3 second generation went on sale

A new chapter in the history of the GAC GS3 crossover began late last year when the official premiere of the second-generation model took place at the Guangzhou Auto Show. Now it has gone on sale, but only in China so far. But after some time we should see the novelty in the showrooms of Russian dealers.

The crossover GAC GS3, having moved to the new modular GPMA platform, has become longer, wider and larger: the dimensions of the second generation model are 4410x1825x1685 mm. Has grown by 90 mm and its wheelbase. The car is now powered by a more powerful 1.5-liter turbo engine with 177 hp. Of. The gearbox is a seven-speed “robot”, the drive is exclusively front.

The Chinese refreshed the design of the GS3, giving it a more aggressive and “sharp” look, and expanded the equipment list. Two large monitors settled in the cabin – the dashboard and the multimedia complex. The diagonal of the screen of the first is 3.5 or 7 inches, depending on the configuration, and the second is 10.25 or 12.3. Other options include a surround sound system, second-level autopilot, heated front seats, and a host of other goodies.

As for prices, in the Celestial Empire, according to our colleagues from Chinese Automobiles, they ask for a novelty from 88,000 to 112,000 yuan, which at the current rate is equivalent to 960,000 – 1,225,000 rubles. For the “sporty” version with R nameplates, you will have to pay another 10,000 yuan (110,000 rubles). Orders are already being accepted, but it is still unclear when the first cars will reach the buyers.

Recall that previous GAC representatives said they plan to bring GS3 to the domestic market. In the Russian model line, it will replace the medium-sized GS5. What price tag will be attached to the GS3 in our country is of course unknown: the sale is still a long way off – before the car has to pass the certification procedure. But the generation-changing crossover is unlikely to cost less than two million rubles.
