According to VSK experts, cars are most often stolen in the metropolitan region – 37.5% of thefts take place in Korean and Japanese foreign cars in the Moscow region and 25% in Moscow. Hyundai cars are also often stolen in the Smolensk region, Toyota in the Voronezh region, and Kia in the Sverdlovsk region. The percentage of car thefts of the aforementioned brands in these regions is approximately 12%.
As insurance experts told the AvtoVzglyad portal, the number of thefts in Russia will only increase. A 10-15% increase in the number of passenger car thefts is expected. Attackers are also active in St. Petersburg and Krasnodar.
In addition to cheap foreign cars, criminals still do not disdain premium cars. The increased risk zone includes Lexus, Land Rover and Mercedes-Benz models.
