Tatarstan’s Digitalization Minister Airat Khairullin held a business meeting with the electric vehicle manufacturer Atom, during which representatives of the startup discussed the progress of work on the project and future plans. In particular, they reported that the line of electric trains will include two models with separate modifications for taxi and delivery services.

Kama has even come up with names for both models: one is presented under the name Duo and the second under the name Family. Why that is so, representatives of the startup have not explained, but we can safely assume that it is all in scope: Duo will likely become more compact and will be aimed at “loners”, and Family will be aimed at the family.

What else did Kama’s representatives say? That “Atoms” can accelerate to 170 km / h and consume 14 kW per 100 km – that is, travel up to 500 km on a single battery charge. For comparison, the Nissan Leaf consumes 13.1 kW per hundred, and the more powerful Tesla Model S – 16.4. In addition, the developers reported that Atoms will receive its own operating system ATOM OS – many functions can be controlled from a smartphone.

The company also confirmed that the next Atom concept will see the light of day this spring, and the so-called functional prototype in July-September. As for the serial version and the start of sales, it is only planned for 2025.
