TOP-5 insurance companies that pay the worst of all victims under OSAGO
Perhaps only “horseless” Russians do not know that the meaning of OSAGO insurance actually amounted to the annual transfer of a certain amount to insurance companies, and not real financial assistance to the injured in an accident. Portal “AvtoVzglyad” found a clear illustration of the super-profitability of “autocitizen” for insurers.

If you have little driving experience or are still relatively young, buying an OSAGO policy can cost serious sums of 10,000 rubles or more. And the car owner will still have to lose a lot of nerves and time to buy an “obligation” without a bunch of expensive and unnecessary “special stages”.

Motorcyclists and truck owners are also familiar with these “chips” from insurance companies, by the hook, or by scammers trying not to get involved with “non-segment” customers most likely to make payments. The data on the mockingly meager amounts of OSAGO fees that have become commonplace cannot be mentioned.

All insurance companies love taking money from car owners and just hate paying them what they owe. But some insurers just do it brilliantly. The AvtoVzglyad portal was convinced of this by reviewing the data of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation on the results of their activities for 2022 in the OSAGO segment.

It illustrates which insurers have been most successful in underestimating executive compensation. To begin with, let’s say that last year insurers received a total of 273 billion rubles from car owners in the country. And they were paid less than 150 billion rubles under OSAGO.

For example, only 59% of the money given to insurance companies was returned to car owners as compensation. This is an average. However, some insurers managed to pay out even less. For example, Sberbank Insurance collected almost 4 billion rubles from customers and reimbursed them 1.3 billion, or 33% of what they received. The company’s net income for the year from partnerships with OSAGO was a staggering 67%. So that we all live like this, as they say!

Yugoslavia ranked second in our TOP-5 Insurance Stinginess. Fees amounted to 13 billion rubles, and payments – 5.5 billion “Stuck on the pocket” 58% of the money of car owners. Third place goes to Tinkoff Insurance. Here the “arrival” amounted to 7.7 billion rubles, and payments to customers – 3.3 billion. 56% of the proceeds from the sale of OSAGO policies remained in the insurance company’s accounts.

VSK (the fourth line of our anti-rating) collected 26 billion rubles and sent only 12 billion to compensate for the damage to road victims. A turnover of 54% is an excellent result given the scale of OSAGO activities! Fifth place was shared by two companies, which “printed” 51% of motorists’ fees. These are Ingosstrakh with its impressive earnings from OSAGO in the amount of 44 billion rubles and payments in the amount of 21 billion rubles, as well as the Spasskiye Vorota SG. She collected 124 million rubles and parted with only 60 million.
