There are still few details about the cars that will be produced at the St. Petersburg plant. It is only known that the C and D class cars of one Chinese brand are installed on the assembly line (which brand has not yet been officially announced), and they go on sale under the LADA brand.
As Dmitry Kostromin, vice president of sales and marketing of JSC AVTOVAZ, previously told AvtoVzglyad in an exclusive interview, the St. Petersburg car plant will produce up to 10,000 cars by the end of 2023, although the potential of this site is estimated at 100,000 cars per year. In the future, they plan to increase the volume and seriously deepen the localization in 2024-2027.
Recall that when Nissan left the Russian market, its plant in St. Petersburg was sold to the NAMI Institute for a symbolic price. And in February 2023, AVTOVAZ bought it and received a 99% share.
