How the Swedes want, but can’t, paralyze the Russian car industry?
In recent years, the Russian car industry has diligently switched to bearings from the Swedish SKF: they were used literally wherever possible, because the Swedes provided stable quality at an attractive price. And then, like a bolt from the blue, the news came: SKF decided to stop its activities in Russia.

SKF’s management is preparing to close its operations in Russia. This is doubly disappointing, because the Swedish group has long since started production in Tver, where parts are produced for rail transport, and at the same time for trucks of the GAZ and KamAZ brands.

In addition, AVTOVAZ planned to use the products of the Tver plant, but it is not known whether the parties actually came to cooperation. In any case, the representatives of SKF planned to start shipping to Tolyatti and Izhevsk a few months ago.

However, the announced “cessation of activity” does not mean at all that the Russian company will be closed forever and that the Russian car industry will be paralyzed! After all, the Swedes want to leave, but at the same time protect the “interests of Russian employees” and support “the company’s customers”.

As a result, the industrial estate is easily transferred from the Swedish owners to a team of Russian managers. We’re not hinting at anything, but such a “rolling” is more of a formality than an actual exit from the company.

After the end of the transition period, the Russian team will continue its business activities outside the orbit of the SKF group of companies.
“We do not intend to stop production at the Tver plant,” Alexei Shulepov, general manager of SKF LLC, told the AvtoVzglyad portal.

So, after they slowed down the sanctions, European companies cut the write-off to the credit and decided it was time to go back to the Russian market. Details of this process are on the AutoVzglyad portal.
