An analysis of the situation in the market for internal combustion engine oils is published by the Avtostat agency. After studying the “price lists” in six major cities of Russia, experts have identified some general trends.
For example, last summer, the cost of retail products more than doubled. So, a 4-liter jerry can of Lukoil Genesis, which was sold for 1,792 rubles in January 2021, already cost 3,756 rubles in June, which is an increase of 110%. This is due to the shortage and cessation of deliveries from leading manufacturers.
In the spring, the situation began to change. Already in March, the same can of Genesis Armortech 5W-40 cost customers 3,281 rubles, which is 13% less than in June 2022. Mobil Super 3000 X1 has fallen in price by 15% during this period, and Shell Helix Ultra by 19%.
Market participants say that this is not a new trend, but a new situation, when domestic manufacturers managed to significantly increase production and start the import substitution process, and a large shortage of imported lubricants began to disappear due to parallel imports from Asian countries .
