The entire printing process took only 26 hours, but with the installation of various additional elements (windows, roof, interior decoration and interior), the house took a week to complete, which is still quite short.
What is known
The building, with an area of 49 square meters, was built using the COBOD BOD2 printer, which was also previously used during the creation of Europe’s first two-storey printing house. Like last time, the 3D printer applied the cement-like mixture layer by layer until it built the high walls that became the frame of the house.

Once the concrete foundation was completed, builders added windows, doors, wiring and plumbing. They installed a roof made of palm thatch, a traditional material in the region. Special wooden slats contribute to natural ventilation.
Thanks to the use of 3D printing, the house has very organically shaped walls; Otherwise, it would be extremely expensive or even impossible to build with concrete blocks, the main building material in the region. 3D printed concrete walls are complemented by a ranch-style palm leaf roof. This type of roof has been used in Latin America for generations because it is cheap, provides thermal comfort, and is well suited to earthquake zones due to the flexibility and lightness of the material. – comment from company representatives.

Inside there is a living room, a small kitchen and a bedroom that can also be an office. The other room is a bathroom with a toilet. The interior layout is quite simple; imprinted concrete walls remain clear without the need for additional decoration.
