As TASS reports, citing the results of a survey conducted by the company Otkritie Auto, 73% of Russians surveyed consider the revival of Soviet-era car brands to be a good idea. 27% were against the return of legendary brands to the market. The most active supporters of the revival of famous names were Russians aged 18-25 and 56-65 years.
46% of respondents have a positive attitude towards the revived Moskvich. 22% noted the good value for money, 24% noted the modern design and another 44% did not like the Moskvich. More than half of those surveyed believe that Oka and Volga should return to the Russian market. 25% are confident that this is necessary to restore the domestic auto industry, but the remaining 32% agree to their “resuscitation” only on the condition that they are not Chinese cars.
But 43% of respondents do not agree with the revival of Soviet brands: 23% doubt their reputation, and 20% believe that new technologies should first be developed that will revive old brands. The study was conducted among 1,500 people aged 18 to 65.
