Rosstandart has started identifying vehicles imported into Russia through parallel imports on which SOS buttons are installed that do not comply with technical regulations. The fact is that such machines do not have the automatic activation function of ERA-GLONASS.
The Telegram channel “Russian Automobile” published a notice from Rosstandart addressed to metrological territorial departments and the State Road Safety Inspectorate. “Vehicles put into service according to the attached list are equipped with devices for calling operational emergency services that do not guarantee their operation in automatic mode, and therefore such vehicles do not meet the requirements of paragraph 114 of Appendix No. 2 of technical regulations and pose an imminent threat of causing serious harm to the health and lives of citizens,” the document said.
In this regard, the department has the right to ban the operation of such vehicles and even forcibly remove them from circulation. The attachment to the letter contains a list of 44 brands of machines – importers have issued OTTS for them, which provide for the use of full-fledged ERA-GLONASS units with automatic control, but install simplified devices allowed on “parallel” machines . They also obtain a simplified certificate – a conclusion on the assessment of a single vehicle (ZOETS),
Rosstandart has already identified differences in 4,589 imported cars, but the list can still be expanded.
