In September this year, the average payout under compulsory motorcycle liability insurance set a new record: 99.4 thousand rubles. The average payment over nine months was 87.2 thousand rubles, which is 16.7% higher than the average payment over January-September last year.
According to the press service of the RSA, citing the association’s chairman Evgeny Ufimtsev, the average payment for the “car license” is growing every month and quarter this year. In the first quarter it was 82,803 rubles, in the second already 86,404 rubles, and at the end of the third 93,435 rubles.
“Based on the nine-month results of 2023, we see that despite the onset of stabilization in the auto aftermarket, the average payout under mandatory motorcycle liability insurance continues to grow and reach new records,” the official noted. — This is partly explained by the constant growth of the dollar and the euro, which can only put reasonable pressure on the average premium for compulsory motor insurance, which at the same time increased by only 0.8%…
At the same time, the number of losses reported for the nine months of 2023 fell by 9% – from 1.64 to 1.48 million, and the number of losses handled fell by 13% – from 1.58 to 1.37 million. It has become increasingly less likely that insurers will meet legal claims from car owners for compensation for damage caused.
