Why, even though Vladimir Putin praises Chinese cars, does he still transfer officials to domestic cars?

Russian President Vladimir Putin has expressed two seemingly mutually exclusive maxims in recent months when discussing the automotive component of our lives. At first, he made it clear to his employees that it was time to stop fattening and switch to products from the domestic automotive industry. And a little later he told Chinese journalists that the “heavenly” cars are practically in no way inferior to their European, Japanese and Korean counterparts. But why should we worry, especially given the vigorous expansion of China’s auto industry into our country in particular and the growing friendship between our peoples in general?

After all, the models of AVTOVAZ, UAZ and even Aurus are clearly inferior to the products of Mercedes, BMW, Audi, Toyota, Hyundai, Skoda and VW. But it is cars of all these brands that have taken root in bureaucratic garages at various levels. At the same time, they are Chinese competitors who can very well replace them in terms of quality, reliability and comfort, unlike our brands. That is to say, Putin, in general, should have simply prohibited government agencies from buying their usual Behi and Mercs under the parallel import scheme, by refocusing them on cars officially sold in Russia, and not twist their arms by switching them to LADA Vesta and UAZ. Patrol.

Moreover, the vehicles of both Togliatti and Ulyanovsk cannot be called 100% Russian in any case: the share of imported components in their various models fluctuates between 30 and 50 percent. And these percentages are still the same Chinese today! And the upcoming resuscitation of the Volga, like the already resurrected Moskvich, is entirely a Chinese story (like Evolute and our localized Haval). And it is unlikely that the leader of our country does not understand that a nameplate in Cyrillic on a Chinese car does not make it a Russian car…

Nevertheless, Putin’s desire to see his ministers, governors and mayors in the showrooms of domestic cars proved so strong that the Ministry of Industry and Trade quickly approved a list of brands and models suitable for these purposes. And he even firmly stated that in taking care of the state budget, he would strictly ensure that prices for it were not made unreasonably high by manufacturers or dealers.

That is of course good, but again it does not solve the biggest problem: the revival of the Russian car industry. And if, according to the story from Hamburg, there is no one and nothing to revive it: the technical school in the country has been lost, just as the companies that produced car parts for car assembly lines have been lost.

And we repeat: it is unlikely that GDP does not understand this. But still he stubbornly insists on a Russian car, first for a Russian official, and then for all Russians. However, what is behind this persistence and whether the company will ultimately succeed, you can find out in the next episode of the podcast of the AvtoVzglyad portal, which you will find Here.
