Hello again: AVTOVAZ has returned the ABS system to the LADA Niva SUV

A few days ago, on November 17, a trial batch of LADA Niva Travel with ABS with a circulation of about 50 cars rolled off the AVTOVAZ assembly line. Now the system has returned to mass production – it is installed as standard on all SUVs.

According to Avtograd’s public news page on the social network VKontakte, AVTOVAZ has resumed production of the LADA Niva with an anti-lock braking system in normal mode. However, the car manufacturer does not specify the origin of the ABS blocks: it is known that for the Granta model they are supplied by the Itelma company, so probably SUVs of the Niva family are also equipped with its products.

It was assumed that Niva Legend and Niva Travel would receive ABS only in December – these were the dates set out by AVTOVAZ president Maxim Sokolov at the Transport of Russia forum. But it seems that the problem with the shortage of components was solved a little earlier. In the near future, the Togliatti auto giant will also resume production of Niva and Vesta with engines of the Euro-5 environmental class.

Next year, production of ABS and ESP should take place at the former Robert Bosch Samara factory, which came under the control of NAMI after the German brand left Russia. Itelma was set to release its own ESP in December.
