Why Russians began to buy car parts in the markets again
Buying parts in 2022 – for both maintenance and car repairs – was a real challenge. Not only is it not easy to find the right part, prices have also skyrocketed. But you have to drive! And this is where the methods proven over the years came into play. And in more detail – in the material of the portal “AvtoVzglyad”.

February, which we will never forget, brought a monstrous, unprecedented shortage in the Russian market for cars and spare parts. Long-standing suppliers not only curtailed the previously signed contracts, but also – for the most part – their activities, promptly “dispersed” warehouse stocks and “were so”. Even ubiquitous China has been slowed down by a series of “SWIFT disable”, “secondary sanctions” and “primary curses” style events. Yes, yes, the “heavenly” factories are also partly owned by European and American companies that do not need problems.

Initially, it was decided to close the gap with “parallel imports”. Shuttle 2.0 – already without checkered bags, but with wagons and containers similar in functionality – rushed to the UAE, the same China and other “friendly” countries for scarce, and therefore financially expedient cargo. Belarus deployed entire supply networks from Europe “to the gray”: spare parts, oils, fluids, consumables. Small lots, for cash. And where has it all gone? Of course to the market!

Small online shops with a collection point in tents and pavilions caused such a storm of activity that it smelled like the 90s again. Without control, without guarantees, but you can turn it in your hands, inspect it and even haggle a little. We have already forgotten such mechanisms. The zoomers will be indignant: “So there’s a delivery, why drive around and pay for parking when the cargo is taken to the nearest box?” Ah, youth!

In an age of scarcity and hype, when fear prevails over logic, and people indulge in all serious things, you need to be extremely careful: they throw it away without looking, and garbage slips in, without fear of angry reviews in ” these from your internet”. Today, before giving money, you need to carefully examine the goods, touch and twist them in your hands, and only after that – pay. This can often be done only on the market: all goods are in stock, and the prices, if you look, are quite acceptable. Original? There are official spare parts and analogues, and cheap Chinese crafts. In short, for every taste and every budget. We have to look again.

Markets have been revitalized with a strong inflow of new customers. In addition, you can find on it something that official dealers will never like: repaired and restored units, as well as components for self-repair, various fasteners and other bearings. At the market they will pick you up, ask and even take you to the right person – they will help you find a solution and not just offer a SKD replacement.

In short, the working method is now as follows: we search the Internet, and then we go to the market. Everything new is the forgotten old, adapted to the wind.
