– The total number of road accidents on the roads of Russia for 11 months of 2022 decreased by 5.2% compared to the same period last year, the number of deaths in these accidents – by 5.7%, injuries – by 5.3%, – reported to the department.

The police consider the following offenses to be the most common causes of traffic incidents: choice of speed by drivers that does not correspond to specific traffic conditions, violation of the rules for crossing intersections, running into oncoming traffic, wrong choice of distance . At the same time, traffic police officers note a noticeable decrease in the last three of the above types of offenses compared to the same period last year. The number of accidents themselves and their victims are also falling.

In particular, since the beginning of 2022, more than 19,500 accidents have been recorded due to violations of intersection crossing rules. This is 6.5% less than last year. In terms of incidents due to oncoming traffic, there were about 9,500 in January-November 2022, which is 8.7% less than in the same period of the previous year. Incorrectly chosen distance for power caused 11,500 road accidents with casualties – almost 10% less than in 11 months of 2021.

According to the 11-month results of 2022, the Chechen Republic, Bryansk and Tver regions became the leaders in reducing the number of accidents with casualties, TASS reports.
