Experts assessed the risks of accidents involving vehicles carrying air defense systems in Moscow

A number of media and telegram channels drew attention to the facts of the deployment of various air defense systems, some of which were allegedly placed on the roofs of buildings, and some in forests within the Moscow ring road. According to external signs, some experts suggested that relatively compact Pantsir complexes were placed on the houses and S-400 closer to the city limits. All of them will be able to protect the metropolis both from enemy drones and from attacks with heavier types of weapons, which, however, according to official data, the Ukronazis do not yet have in stock. All this equipment, of course, moves around the city on special vehicles. In theory, it could therefore be involved in an accident with other vehicles. What is the responsibility of the parties in this case and what to do if you have such an accident?

– For the transport of the Pantsir-S system, the chassis of KamAZ, MAZ and MAN trucks are used, and for the transport of S-400 – MAZ and BelAZ, belonging to the category of military equipment not covered by the law falls from the Russian Federation “On OSAGO”, – explained to the portal “AvtoVzglyad” retired FSB colonel, head of the association “Association of regional motor transport companies and carriers ‘Mezhregionavtotrans'” Sergei Khrapach. – OSAGO policies for such equipment are not issued. In other words, in the event of an accident with its participation, the process of compensation for losses associated with damage to civilian cars becomes more complicated. And car owners will have to recover damages only in court from the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. But it should be noted that the probability of such an accident is very unlikely as such vehicles drive with guidance along certain and pre-designed routes, with minimal intercourse with ordinary urban traffic.

The expert also assured that, contrary to fears expressed in social networks, Muscovites have no reason to panic due to the presence of air defense systems in the capital. The wreckage of Pantsir-S missiles, after intercepting targets over Moscow, will not be able to inflict critical damage on city facilities and civilians, and S-400 missiles are aimed at intercepts at a considerable distance from the Mother See.

We can only trust the conclusions of experts and hope that the case will not lead to the interception of targets over the capital. And, of course, hope that special equipment will be transported in Moscow in accordance with all safety standards and that this will not affect road safety, and in addition, all possible risks of accidents involving civilian cars will be avoided.
