Another Chinese car brand enters the Russian market – VGV

In early February, it became known that a large car dealership began selling Chinese BAW cars in St. Petersburg, and now there is similar news about VGV cars and the St. Petersburg dealer Maximum. It is reported that this brand will be launched in the third quarter of 2023.

Representatives of the company “Maximum” specified that sales of VGV cars (the passenger car division of the “heavenly” truck manufacturer Sinotruk) will take place not only in the northern capital, but also in Moscow and a number of other million-plus cities. Next year, the distributor (which has become the same dealer) plans to sell 6,000 cars, increasing the volume to 50,000 units in five years, RBC reports.

The project is ambitious – the VGV model line (at least according to plan) will be quite wide: mid-sized U70 Pro and U75 Plus crossovers, larger SUVs with diesel engines and all-wheel drive, a pickup. Later – LCV: minibuses and trucks. And in early 2025 a crossover of the SUV class C. It is already known that one of the models will cost up to 2 million rubles. It doesn’t say which one, but it’s probably the U70 Pro or U75 Plus.

Let’s add that “Maximum” wants to organize the delivery not only of FGM cars, but also of components for them. “We will create our own full-fledged warehouse, our own office in Moscow and create a large team. We will import all necessary spare parts, store them in the Russian market and quickly deliver the necessary spare parts to our dealers upon request,” quotes a representative of the RBC company.
