From back to front: why Russia is sending the latest buggy to the NWO zone
In Primorye, tests of a new transport for military, and after – for peaceful purposes are being completed. Light and fast, on a frame structure “side” was developed at the Khabarovsk enterprise. At the moment, five prototypes have been built, which have already been “run in” to start mass production as soon as possible. The first batches of new cars, as the AvtoVzglyad portal found out, will be transferred to the CBO zone.

The governor of the Khabarovsk Territory, Mikhail Degtyarev, spoke in his telegram channel about the imminent start of series production of another local novelty of the domestic auto industry:

– Buggy “Erofey” is being tested at the training ground of the Eastern Military District of Russia in Khabarovsk. Five prototypes have already been assembled. We are getting ready to be sent to the zone of the NWO and series production,” the official said.

What is “Erofey”? This is a domestic utility UTV, or domestic utility off-road vehicle, an ATV with car-type steering. They are also called side-by-side or side-by-side because passengers sit next to each other. Domestic all-terrain vehicle double, frame structure, with independent suspension and weight of 350 kg. The maximum speed is about 150 km/h.

This type of vehicle has long been used in the militaries of many countries of the world as a convenient and practical way to quickly get off-road to remote areas, bring ammunition and provisions and collect the wounded.

A strong steel frame ensures that you are not afraid of tipping over, and the total weight helps you to quickly put the vehicle on wheels and keep it moving. The drive is full or only on the rear axle, depending on the requirements and technical specifications.

Note that in Russia such vehicles are usually called buggies, which defines them as a light, technically simple all-terrain vehicle that is not afraid of difficult operating conditions and can very quickly go off-road. The most important point for such equipment in the conditions we have now is the speed of production.

At the moment, the Khabarovsk enterprise can produce up to 20 cars per month, but if Yerofey is successful, production can be quickly scaled up. After the completion of the special military operation, they plan to use the equipment for the needs of rescuers, forest protection and hunting surveillance, as well as law enforcement.

It is curious that the novelty had three variants of names, of which “Erofey” was chosen by popular vote – in honor of the Russian explorer Yerofey Khabarov. The names “Cupid” and “Tiger” remained for subsequent developments.
